Bambu Indah in Ubud, Bali (Indonesia), has been for sure one of the most incredible and unique places i’ve stayed over the last few years. A place with real personality and uniqueness. This boutique eco-resort, located in the middle of the forest and the rice fields on the famous Ubud village, melts among the nature. There are multiple hotels and resorts around this area, some of them considered the top class in SouthWest Asia, but this stands for its uniqueness amonst the others. Resorts like the Viceroy Bali, Four Seasons Ubud, Hanging Gardens and others that feature over $600USD to $800USD per night for an standard room are for sure the most popular and most desired places to spend some days of totally relaxing. This resort was booked at last call, because our first two options were booked already (Amandari and Alila Ubud). And thanks for that, otherwise we would not have found this amazing place. But simplicity is often the most luxury you can have. Expensive doesn’t mean good, luxurious or even exclusive.
They feature several different cottages and bungalows, each one different, with several names: Kuda, Manis, Biru, Udang, Kuning, Kolam, Kuno, Jawa Lama, Padi House, Elora&Orin, Afrika, Pagoda, Sumba.
Their price range goes from 95USD for the most basic bungalow in low season, to 395EUR for the most expensive one on busy season (July to September).
We stayed at the Kuno House (mid-top level bungalow) during our vacation in Ubud, Bali.
We can easily say that Ubud is Indonesia’s spiritual and cultural heart. Ubud is something that will change your life and perspective of travel forever. My biggest recommendation is to allow several different days around this village to fully sample their culture and what Ubud and it’s people has to offer. I strongly advise spending a minimum of 5 nights here to fully embrace Ubud’s experience. Please note also that renting a motorbike is strongly advised here to reach the center of Ubud, as traffic is often packed.
