We visited Lombok for the first time on this trip, and our desire was to combine Bali and Lombok both on the same trip, and fully understand the cultural differentes of this two beautiful islands, so close to each other by a short boar ride. We experimented several hotels at the Island, and after staying at The Jeeva Klui Resort Lombok close to Senggigi, we followed to South part of the Island, direction to Cocotinos Sekotong in the Southern part of Lombok, less than 60min from the local international airport.
Cocotinos Sekotong it’s an outstanding luxury resort, in a remote part of the island, featuring only 36 exclusive villas, settled in very calm part of Lombok, off the beaten track, away from the confusion of the big cities. Getting there was just was almost 2hours drive distance from Senggigi. We were offered one of their best villas, for totally relaxed moments and splurge: their exclusive Water Edge Villa, featuring a Private Infinity Pool, straight in front of the ocean for their guests privacy and comfort. My advice goes here, save some bucks and treat yourself by making a reservation on this wonderful and unique villa! I’m totally sure you won’t be sorry.
Cocotinos Sekogong it’s a small boutique resort, extremely quiet and calm, and with just few things surrounding, mostly local villages and desert beaches. It’s perfect for relaxing and stay away from the city and busy places, but be aware that if you are someone who like some activities and see people, restaurants, bars, etc, probably will get bored after the 3rd or 4th night. So by staying at Cocotinos, I strongly recommend a stay no longer than two or three days, unless you are fine by doing nothing, sitting on the beach, reading, which often is great for a great week of vacation.
They also offer a wonderful spa/massage service, in front of the beach, which is totally recomnended.
Please note that they also offer activities, so you can combine with your relax days. You can always explore the places around the resort, rent a motorbike or scuba diving (they have a nice diving/sports center) for this kind of activities, and also make a trip to the 3 small coconut islets of Gili Nanggu, Gili Tangkong and Gili Sudak, straight in front of the hotel. Talking about prices, they are affordable for what you get: they have villas starting only at $89USD up to $350USD for the most exclusive rooms, with private pool and extra living area.
On this remote part of the island, we were a bit afraid that having nothing around to go eat like restaurants and bars, and that their prices could be quite expensive for lunch and dinner, but that in fact didn’t happened. A coke at this resort has a cost of 34.000IDR and a beer 46.000 IDR, something between 3 to 4 USD.
Let me tell you also about their excellent food: tasty, good portions, and extremely cheap comparing to other places. It’s a great option to have all meals at the resort, I’m sure you will love. Check below some more photos.
